Privacy Policy

BVR ("BVR", "we", "us") is a social manga-tracking website that lets you log the manga you read, write reviews and ratings, build lists, follow other readers, and share community posts ("Panels"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.

By using BVR at https://bvrmanga.com, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information we collect

We keep what we collect to the minimum needed to run the service:

• Account information (via Google). You sign in with your Google account. Through Google we receive your email address, name, and profile picture. We use this to create and identify your account and to display your profile.
• Content you create.The manga you track and their status (e.g. reading, completed, plan to read, on hold, dropped), your reviews, ratings, lists, follows, and community posts ("Panels"). This is stored so the service works and so your profile and lists can be shown.
• Profile details you choose to add. An optional display name, bio, avatar, and banner image.
• Basic technical/usage data. We use Vercel Analytics to understand general traffic and keep the site running. This collects only anonymous, aggregate usage data (such as page views) and does not identify you personally.

We do not collect your Google password, and we do not sell your personal information.

2. Why we use your information

• To create your account and let you sign in securely with Google.
• To save and display your manga tracking, reviews, ratings, lists, and Panels.
• To power social features such as profiles and follows.
• To operate, maintain, secure, and improve the service.
• To contact you about important account or service matters if needed.

3. How your data is stored

Your account and content are stored in Supabase, our database and authentication provider. The site itself is hosted on Vercel. Access to your data is controlled by security rules so that private content stays private.

4. Third parties we rely on

BVR uses a small number of trusted services to function:

• Google— for sign-in (authentication). When you log in, Google shares your email, name, and profile picture with us. Your use of Google is also subject to Google's own privacy policy.
• Supabase — for our database and authentication.
• Vercel — for hosting and basic analytics.
• AniList — we pull manga information (titles, covers, descriptions, authors, etc.) from the public AniList API to display in the app. We send AniList general search/lookup requests; we do not share your personal account data with AniList.

5. Cookies and login sessions

When you sign in, we (through Supabase) store a secure session in your browser so that you stay logged in between visits. These are essential for the site to work — they keep you signed in and protect your account. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies — only essential login cookies plus anonymous analytics.

6. Accessing or deleting your data

You can view and edit much of your information directly in the app (your profile, lists, reviews, and Panels). If you would like to request a copy of your data or ask us to delete your account and associated data, email us at keremgnr20@gmail.com and we will respond within 30 days.

7. Children

BVR is not intended for children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us and we will remove it.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Effective date" above and, for significant changes, take reasonable steps to notify users.
